Lakeside Performance Gas Services Ltd.: Inventory Assistant

A Inventory Assistant is responsible for overseeing the inventory stock thereby keeping a close watch on the inflow and outflow of materials.

This role is also responsible for maintaining the required level of efficiency or safety while handling the movement of goods and maintain record of all materials.

POSITION TITLE:Inventory Assistant POSITION LOCATION:Ottawa, Ontario EMPLOYMENT TERM:Full Time Permanent COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:$17.82 hourly w/ benefits and vacation PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Review warehouse inventory using a combination of protocols including Warehouse Management System and physical counts.

Process incoming shipments to the warehouse, including keeping the receiving area clear.

Daily input of data into Lakeside’s inventory data base; Great Plains (GP) Inventory Management System.

Check accuracy of data in WMS against the technicians’ records and investigate and resolve any discrepancies, informing technicians’ and management of findings Using a variety of material-handling equipment such as forklift and pallet Jacks to perform physical counts and cycle counts as required by the Lakeside, including routine audits.

Compare received shipments to Lakeside invoices to identify pricing and identification markers on the stock.

Ensure organization and proper storage of warehouse stock at both main and satellite warehousing facilities.

Consult with administrators to complete purchase orders and advise on stock purchase.

Complete accurate and consistent data entry and inventory logs for all warehouse stocks.

Provide feedback regarding operator error to warehouse management team for coaching purposes.

Collaborate to problem solve and recommend solutions.

Assist in the preparation of inventory and other reports for technicians’ and internal purposes.

Resolve technicians’ concerns and/or escalate as required.

Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with those on your team, as well as cross-functionally.

Adopt a preventative approach to ensuring a safe and clean warehouse operation.

Delivery of new inventory and maintenance of inventory levels at satellite warehouse facilities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES Equipment operation/maintenance Organization Written and verbal communications skills Time management Problem resolution Detail oriented Independent Coordination Documentation skills Ability to drive a forklift – formal training will be provided Dependability Job Requirements:Experience 2-3 years Warehouse and/or Inventory Control experience.

Experience in inventory control and/or logistics is an asset.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT Must have obtained an Ontario high school diploma or equivalent.

PHYSICAL DEMAND Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, squatting and bending Reach with hands and arms.

Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 40 lbs.

Additional Requirement: Must have a valid drivers licence Clean Driving Abstract must be provided Criminal Background check Position requires individual to drive to the different depots in Ottawa 50% of the time.
